In retirement, her ministry focuses on practices for the spiritual life in sickness and in health, spiritual direction, contemplative prayer, and opportunities for ecumenical and interfaith retreats.
She and her husband, Doug, live in San Antonio with their three border collies, Maggie, Graford and Fiona, their six-toed cat, Cuthbert, and a “grand-cat” named Leftovers. They enjoy raising organic vegetables. A gardener for many years, Mary is learning about sustainable agriculture.
